Hi it's me Furano Guide(@Tripguide7777

Today, let me introduce you to more sight-seeing spots in the Furano-Biei Area

If you want to see lavender, Farm Tomita`s Lavender East is a great places to go!

This time, let`s go to the largest lavender field in Japan!

I will now show you the conditions in July, at the peak of the lavender blooming season!

Where is Lavender East?

Take Route 237 out of Furano, heading north towards Asahikawa.

After passing through the small town of Naka-Furano, keep an eye out for a sign for Lavender East on the right.

Turn RIGHT at this intersection and continue down the road approximately 2.5km.

Across the same intersection, there is also a small open market area called Fukuda Melon (ふくだメロン).

There is also a red sign for Family Restaurant Aze-Michi Yori-Michi (あぜ道より道) in 2.5km by the side of the road.

WARNING: Road Conditions

The road you turn onto from Route 237 has bumps and pits, so please be careful when driving. Please do not speed, and be aware of your car`s clearance (distance between the road and the bottom of your car).

Once you have passed the Family Restaurant (which will be on your Left), continue down to the next intersection and turn LEFT, following the sign pictured below.

Soon on your Left, there will be a parking lot. Please enter this area to check out Lavender East.

Let`s go see what Lavender East has to offer!

Once you have passed through the entrance, there are stairs you can climb to the Observation Deck.

Personally, I prefer to see the view from ground-level, but I climbed up to the Observation Deck to get a picture of the view up there for you!

The view from the Observation Deck

From the Observation Deck, you can get a 360-degree view of the surrounding lavender fields, rolling hills, and mountain ranges. You can also see the little “Lavender Bus Tour” which takes you around the farm.

I then went back down to ground-level. There were some old water pumps there

If you pump up some water, it is very refreshing!

**This water is not potable (DO NOT DRINK)

Let`s go see the lavender!

The Lavender of Lavender East

The “Lavender Bus” sign, where you can board to take a short tour of the farm by tractor!

Adults are 200yen while Children are 100yen for a 15-minute ride.

It`s like one huge carpet of lavender, isn`t it.

It`s great to see the lavender up close, too!

Can you see the bee in the middle of the picture? Isn`t it cute?

Besides the lavender fields, there is also a pond and other flower beds blooming.

Next, I`ll show you a little bit about the facilities at Lavender East.

Summary of Farm Tomita Lavender East

Farm Tomita Lavender East is known as the the best lavender fields in Japan. That is for a very good reason, as the flowers are truly gorgeous and the scenery is beautiful. Even though this farm is Japan`s Number One lavender farm, it`s not very busy, which is an added bonus.

Compared to the famous Farm Tomita, Farm Tomita Lavender East has much fewer crowds, which allows you more time to relax and enjoy the lavender.
